My Approach
"Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen." - Brene Brown

My experience has set the foundations for my practice to be empathically grounded in the belief that we all have the capacity for growth. I am dedicated to working alongside my clients to find the answers that enable them to live with a stronger sense of self, build confidence and resilience, and foster meaningful relationships. I would describe my approach as warm, curious, empowering, collaborative, creative and intuitive.
In my early career, I worked a lot with communication difficulties, mental health conditions, and neurodiversity (particularly Autism Spectrum Condition and ADHD) in educational and healthcare settings. I also enjoyed spending a number of years working in the charity sector, supporting a rich tapestry of clients from all walks of life to overcome difficult obstacles to their health and wellbeing. As such, I welcome people of all backgrounds to my practice.
Having spent a few years working overseas, I welcome the opportunity to work with people who live international or expat lifestyles, able to empathise with some of the challenges this can bring up (such as adjusting to major life transitions, homesickness and loneliness).

Areas of Experience
I welcome the opportunity to work with any person and any reason for coming to therapy. I have particular specialisms in working with feelings of otherness, relationship issues, or with people who are adjusting to a major life change - in whatever form that may be.
-
Feelings of Otherness: Perhaps you have always felt like somewhat of an outsider - even in adulthood, you feel you have finally found your people and a community who truly accepts the wholeness of you, and yet you still carry residual feelings of being on the periphery, worries about being accepted or not being enough. Feelings of otherness can be incredibly isolating - they may have started when you were diagnosed with a health condition or as neurodivergent, or when you realised perhaps you saw the world in a different way to others, or because you felt/looked/sounded/loved/moved differently to the people around you and felt they treated you differently. For whatever reason(s) you feel like you don't fit in, I provide an affirmative therapeutic space which can be a powerful and transformative tool to understand how your past experiences may have shaped the way you feel today, to work towards finding a feeling of belonging, towards truly accepting yourself in all your glory, and finding tools to feel less stuck in how you perceive others to view you.
-
Relationship Issues: Exploring your authentic sense of self, the relationship patterns you see repeating themselves, the places you feel stuck in and don't know why, how you relate to yourself and the world around you, inner child work, and attachment wounds - these are all areas we might explore together to understand what is really going on for you and find ways to move forward together.
-
Major Life Changes: Going through a big life change often leaves us with a lot which needs space to be processed - sometimes talking to friends and family just doesn't feel like enough. Whether you are navigating through a shift in your family dynamic, the complex feelings of grief, a scary career change, a recent change to your relationship status, I'm here to walk with you on your journey and give you the safe space you need.
We will work together to understand what is happening for you, and to create a greater sense of self and belonging, building you up to find more confidence and to feel more able to take on the challenges life throw at you.
Every session is shaped by my client's unique path, personal history and relationships - this means I work with a diverse range of experiences and issues. Listed below are some of the areas I have experience in:
